A troupe of eight elite Australian acrobats will perform at Aberdeen’s His Majesty’s Theatre next week as part of Aberdeen Performing Arts’ International Season.
Described as an “ode to the countless hours needed to achieve great things”, Gravity and Other Myths’ latest production, Ten Thousand Hours, will take place from Thursday, July 25 to Friday July 26.
The show is part of Aberdeen Performing Arts’ inaugural International Season which kicked off in June, introducing fresh, engaging, and exciting work to audiences in Aberdeen. Continuing in July and September, the line-up boasts some of the most innovative and cutting-edge performers from around the world.
Aberdeen Performing Arts chief executive, Sharon Burgess, said: “This show really pushes the boundaries of what we typically think of when we imagine circus performers, with awe-inspiring performances that push the boundaries of physical strength and skill. Ten Thousand Hours, promises to be an exhilarating display of acrobatics and teamwork, captivating audiences of all ages.”

Gravity and Other Myths (GoM) is a renowned contemporary circus company. They first gained widespread acclaim with their debut production, "A Simple Space," which premiered at the Adelaide Fringe Festival. The show was an immediate hit, touring globally and continuing to thrill audiences everywhere.
Ten Thousand Hours explores the dedication and hard work required to master the art of acrobatics. The show embodies the principle that achieving excellence in any field requires extensive practice and perseverance.
Eight elite acrobats will investigate physical skill; how we obtain it, how we perfect it, and how it can transform our lives. Through highlighting the nuance of high-level acrobatics, audiences experience a heightened appreciation of the countless hours required to master the skills they are witnessing.
