Westhill-based well engineering, subsurface and project management specialist, Elemental Energies, has redefined Blue Monday - often labelled as the ‘gloomiest day of the year’ - by hosting its first ‘Brew Monday’ event - a celebration of community and connection designed to uplift spirits and challenge negative connotations surrounding this day.

In collaboration with PBS by Ponticelli and Semco Maritime, Elemental Energies welcomed employees and neighbouring businesses to join a morning of coffee, conversation, and sweet treats. The event featured free hot drinks from Inverurie-based coffee truck Giddy Cup and indulgent cinnamon rolls from Aberdeen favourite SHOT N ROLL.

Brew Monday also supported an important cause with attendees raising nearly £300 - and counting - for Aberdeen Samaritans, an organisation providing vital mental health support to the local community.

Reflecting on the event, Dianne Morrice, proposals and communications manager at Elemental Energies, and event organiser, commented: “We were thrilled to partner with PBS, Semco, and fantastic local businesses like Giddy Cup and Shot ‘n’ Roll to host Brew Monday. It was a wonderful opportunity to come together with our neighbours, support local businesses, and focus on what truly matters - connection and wellbeing. Initiatives like these show how small actions can have a meaningful impact, turning a day often labelled as 'blue' into something positive.”
