Key themes of energy, technology and transition will provide the cornerstones for a popular annual business event which will create a digital bridge across the North Sea next week.

The eighth Aberdeen-Norway Gateway is being held in association with Nordic Edge and RamBase UK. It will be hosted online by Granite PR on September 14 - 15 to create a free-to-attend platform for knowledge sharing and networking in a remote, safe and accessible way.

The well-known event is renowned for attracting a broad range of impactful speakers and this year is set to be no exception with Her Majesty’s Ambassador to Norway Richard Wood and Aberdeen Lord Provost Barney Crockett leading the way. They will be joined by an array of business representatives from Scotland and Norway who will share their experiences, successes and challenges with a global online audience.

Granite PR founder, managing director and Gateway series creator Brett Jackson added: “As well as automation and energy transition, there is much talk about transition in so many other areas including the post-pandemic transition back into the workplace, transition towards increased automation and more. We look forward to gathering online for what promise to be interesting and informative sessions which we hope will connect and inspire in equal measure.”

RamBase UK will use the event to shine a light on the specific factors that might push a company to consider a rethink of its business software systems to better support the challenging requirements in the oil and energy supply chain.

Commenting on the event, business development manager Tony Flannagan said: “RamBase is fully committed to strengthening collaboration between Norway and the UK. Our parent company Hatteland for example, is one of the investors behind the project to install a submarine, 700-kilometre long high-capacity fibre-optic data cable between the UK and Norway to enable a stronger internet connection between the two countries.

“The Aberdeen-Norway Gateway Event is an ideal platform to facilitate awareness of RamBase cloud ERP, (now fully supported in the UK) and present the benefits gained by a range of customers that supply to the Stavanger region.”

The Aberdeen-Norway Gateway 2021 is supported by Aberdeen City Council, Aberdeen Harbour, Add Energy, British Embassy (Oslo), Front Energy, Motive Offshore, Nordic Edge, Norwegian British Chamber of Commerce, ONS Foundation, RamBase UK, Safewell Solutions, Stronachs and Widerøe.
