Following the outstanding success of their 1st Oil & Gas Project Management conference in Aberdeen in 2013, the ECITB is delighted to announce the 2nd Oil & Gas Project Management conference at the AECC on November 17, 2015.

Led by the Offshore Project Management Steering Group (OPMSG), this community conference will again be delivered by senior oil & gas practitioners in celebrating the successes of North Sea projects, and challenge the Industry to collaborate and become more efficient to secure a sustainable future.

John Pearson, Group President – Northern Europe & CIS, Amec Foster Wheeler says “Times are tough right now but the most effective way of creating a sustainable future for our industry is to collaborate for greater efficiency. As such, I encourage participation in this event from all companies interested in our collective successful future. We have to deliver changes that will leave the industry more competitive even after the inevitable upturn.

We can and will get through this, but the challenge right now is for all companies to work together”.

Keynote speakers include Bob Keiller, WGPSN; Andy Samuel, Oil & Gas Authority; Mark Richardson, Apache; Alistair Hope, Shell E&P and Bjarte Bogsnes, Statoil. Interactive workshops will also be delivered jointly by Industry & Academia. To view the full list of speakers follow the OPMSG link.

The costs for a table of 8 are minimal as the conference is not for commercial interest, but to bring the Industry together in addressing the critical issues facing the Industry. The event is supported by Oil & Gas UK, Offshore Contractors Association and the APM as event partners.

David Edwards, Chief Executive, ECITB: “Lowering costs in the execution of projects is vital in this industry considering the current economic situation. Excellence in project delivery is key to the long term survival of the industry whether in new build, brown field asset management or decommissioning. The ECITB continues to develop and maintain high standards in this area and the Board of the ECITB is fully committed to supporting these initiatives.”

The ECITB has a strong focus on Project Management, with several courses and events run each year. As part of their schools engagement programme, two residentials are run for students from the ages of 11 to 17 who are interested in STEM subjects. This is in addition to the ECITB Project Management Cup based around the ACTIVE principles that is run three times a year and trains 150 project managers.
