A group of IT professionals is looking to go the distance in a bid to raise money for charity.
Staff from Dynamic Edge, one of the largest independent IT firms in the North of Scotland, will cycle 110 miles between the company’s Aberdeen and Inverness offices on Friday, August 14.
Members of the team will set off on their journey from the company’s Waverley Place office in the Granite City before arriving at Seafield Road in the Highland Capital via Alford, Dufftown, Forres and Nairn.
Money raised will benefit Inverness-based charity the Highland Hospice, the only hospice caring for adults with incurable life limiting illness in the Scottish Highlands.
Chief executive Rob Hamilton and managing director Stuart Winterburn will be accompanied by Dynamic Edge colleagues Stephen Laurie, Gordon MacRae and Scott Millar as well as David Lappin, chief executive of Castlehill Housing Association.
Stuart Winterburn, managing director at Dynamic Edge, said: “We’re excited about the upcoming challenge and the opportunity to bring together teams from our company’s two respective offices for a worthy cause.
“Both Rob Hamilton and I are experienced long-distance cyclists so we’ll be doing our best to help prepare and motivate the rest of the team ahead of what will undoubtedly be a tough challenge.
“It’s going to be a celebration of the successes we’ve achieved since the expansion of the company into the Inverness area, while we’re delighted to be able to support a fantastic organisation such as the Highland Hospice.”
The Dynamic Edge team is hoping to raise £3,000. Donations are being accepted at the team’s Everyday Hero page (http://bit.ly/1Org2uD) with proceeds going to charity.
Established in 2009, Dynamic Edge offers a comprehensive range of IT and communications services to businesses and organisations across the North of Scotland. This includes managed IT services, hosted voice solutions, proactive support, security and disaster recovery.
