Dynamic Edge raise £3,000 for charity following 110-mile cycle challenge

A group of IT professionals has raised £3,000 for charity following a gruelling cycling challenge.

Staff from Dynamic Edge, one of the largest independent IT firms in the North of Scotland, cycled 110 miles between the company’s Aberdeen and Inverness offices in a single day.

Chief executive Rob Hamilton, managing director Stuart Winterburn and Scott Millar from the Aberdeen office were joined by Inverness colleagues Stephen Laurie and Gordon MacRae as well as David Lappin, chief executive of Castlehill Housing Association.

Members of the team set off from the company’s Waverley Place office in the Granite City before arriving at Seafield Road in Inverness, having journeyed via Alford, Dufftown, Forres and Nairn.

Money raised will benefit the Highland Hospice as part of the organisation’s Project Build Appeal, which aims to support a renovation of its existing inpatient unit.

The Inverness-based charity is the only hospice caring for adults with incurable life limiting illness in the Scottish Highlands and is acknowledged as the centre of specialist palliative care expertise in the region.

Stuart Winterburn, managing director at Dynamic Edge, said: “As expected, it proved to be a great challenge and the entire team can be extremely proud of themselves for completing the journey despite some challenging conditions.

“It was also terrific to bring together members of the team from both the Aberdeen and Inverness offices to achieve a common goal.

“We’re equally pleased to have raised funds for the Highland Hospice which will go towards boosting their renovation appeal. The charity provides an invaluable service to those who need it in the Inverness area and we’re proud to be associated with such a fantastic cause.”

The Dynamic Edge team is still accepting donations at its Everyday Hero page http://bit.ly/1Org2uD with proceeds going towards the Highland Hospice.

Established in 2009, Dynamic Edge offers a comprehensive range of IT and communications services to businesses and organisations across the North of Scotland. This includes managed IT services, hosted voice solutions, proactive support, security and disaster recovery.

The company, which is headquartered at Waverley Place in Aberdeen, employs 30 people with nine of those employees working from offices at Seafield Road in Inverness.
