Aberdeenshire based spirits specialists, Duncan Taylor Scotch Whisky, has revealed a new design for their special edition Black Bull 30-year-old in partnership with golfing legend, Sir Nick Faldo.
The special edition ‘Tale of Two Legends’ 30-year-old, bottled at 50% abv, sold out globally last year after winning a plethora of awards. Most notably it picked up a Gold at the International Spirits Challenge, an incredible score of 94/100 at the IWSC awards and a Silver in the Whisky Magazine’s World Whisky Awards for blended whiskies aged 21 year and over.
Since re-launch, the whisky, double matured in sherry oak casks, has already scored 95/100 from Whisky Advocate magazine which heralds it as one of the best releases this year. The blend combines some of the finest aged spirits from the Duncan Taylor Scotch Whisky portfolio, resulting in a rare premium blend, laden with rich fruit cake notes alongside the flavour of almonds and subtle spices.
The new sustainable design packaging is fully recyclable including the use of organic inks and environmentally friendly caps. Upgraded to include a box that showcases the bottle in its entirety, the design cleverly plays on a black to clear gradient from top to bottom to show its deep, rich colour palette in the final third of the bottle.
Director of Product Development for Duncan Taylor, Evan Robertson commented, “We’ve set ambitious targets throughout the company to reduce our carbon footprint and carefully map out each brand with that in mind. Since the launch of ‘The Tale of Two Legends’, we’ve had incredible feedback about the liquid and won numerous awards. It is fitting that we elevate the Black Bull identity with a striking, luxurious, and environmentally friendly packaging, underpinning our goals going forward.”
The ‘Tale of Two Legends’ portfolio was created specially to represent major milestone events in Sir Nick’s illustrious professional career. The 30-year-old is a nod to the incredible 30 wins he amassed on the European Tour and reflecting his World Number One status for an incredible 97 weeks.
Sir Nick said, “This limited-edition Black Bull 30-year-old holds a particularly special place in my heart. The youngest spirit selected from the Duncan Taylor vaults began a distinguished maturation in the year I won my third Open Championship title at Muirfield. It’s great to see the new luxury packaging which complements the liquid inside.”
Priced at £300 for 700ml, the 30-year-old is available now globally.
