Xcite Media, the team behind the Trades Awards and the Scottish Home Show, has been shortlisted in two categories of The Drum’s prestigious Scottish Event Awards 2015, taking place in Glasgow on Wednesday, October 7, 2015.
The Trades Awards 2014, which recognises the achievements of North-east Scotland’s tradespeople, is shortlisted for Best Awards Scheme, and faces competition from Edinburgh Airport Celebrating Success Awards Dinner, The Offshore Achievement Awards and Provost’s Civic Pride Awards.
The Scottish Home Show 2014, one of the biggest home and garden exhibitions in Scotland, is shortlisted for Best Exhibition, and will compete against #Designpopup Scotland, Agriscot, Dinosaurs Return!, Edinburgh Wedding Fair & Fashion Show, and Glasgow Film Festival Jeely Jars and Seeing Stars.
These shortlistings recognise the resounding success of both events in 2014, with the Trades Awards boasting over a 100% increase in applications, an almost 100% increase in turnover and a significant increase in tickets sold, while the Scottish Home Show achieved a substantial increase in sponsors, exhibitors and revenue, compared to the previous year.
Darren Ross, Director of Xcite Media, comments: “We are delighted to again be shortlisted for not one, but two awards at this year’s Scottish Event Awards. This underlines the continual success and growth of both events, and highlights that the team’s hard work and dedication definitely paid off.
“We celebrated increased figures across the board and received a great deal of positive feedback from guests, sponsors, and exhibitors. The third Trades Awards took place in June this year, and we are predicting continued success for the fourth Scottish Home Show, which is set to take place from September 25-27 this year.
“Our fingers are crossed for a successful evening, and winning an award would be an incredible achievement, showcasing our accomplishments over the past year.”
Xcite Media won the Best Exhibition award at the Scottish Event Awards in 2013, and was shortlisted for Best Awards Scheme and Best Large Event in 2014.
Excitement is currently building for The Scottish Home Show 2015, which is sponsored by Dandara, as it promises to be the biggest and best home and garden exhibition in Scotland. With special guest appearances from celebrity interior designer Linda Barker, and TV gardening gurus Tommy Walsh and Charlie Dimmock, the event is taking place at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre from September 25-27 2015, and will showcase the best products and design innovations in the home improvements market.
