Aberdeen Football Club has submitted plans for a large LED scoreboard screen above Section Y in the South Stand at Pittodrie.

The proposals lodged with Aberdeen City Council come as the Dons look to make improvements to the aging stadium in light of stalling plans for a new ground.

If approved by the local authority, the screen would have a total display area of 81.09 sq meters.

It is believed the screen would be capable of displaying match footage, as well as information relating to VAR checks, time and score updates and advertising.

The screen would be provided by MaxAmaze, a leading specialist in fan engagement entertainment, pyrotechnics, stadium sound systems, and floodlights which recently became an official partner of AFC.

The manufacturer's brochure says its screen designs boast high reliability and stability and are - fortunately for the uncovered Section Y location - "not afraid of harsh environments".
