Saturday Night Fever will sweep through Aberdeen’s Chester Hotel on the evening of Saturday, August 23 as it hosts The Archie Foundation’s 2025 Disco Ball.
Guests will be transported through the decades with an array of disco hits from the 70s onwards.
Attendees will have the choice to either don their best disco fancy dress, or to get glammed up for the occasion, with a live DJ playing all the best disco floor fillers, a music performance from a special guest star and a live auction on the night.
The ball will help to mark The Archie Foundation’s 25th birthday this year, with all proceeds from the event going directly to help support babies, children and families across the North of Scotland.
Tickets are on sale now, with an early bird offer of a table of 10 for £1,000 for those who book before the end of January.
Last year’s Glitter Ball, held in September, raised £40,167, helping The Archie Foundation to provide activities and support for more than 3,000 children and their families across Aberdeen and the North of Scotland
Kelly M. Anderson, head of fundraising at The Archie Foundation, said: “We can’t wait to continue our birthday celebrations with a night of singing and dancing to groovy music from the 1970s and beyond! The Archie Ball is always a highlight for our calendar - not only because it is brilliant fun, but also as one of our most important fundraising events.
“The Archie Foundation provides help for so many children and families each year - from opening the doors of our Family Centre to allow parents to stay overnight with their children in hospital, to helping with vital financial support and equipment. We also offer immediate bereavement services for children who have lost a loved one, giving them support and counselling at a time when they need it the most. We are so proud of our ability to react quickly to emergency needs, and we simply couldn't do this without the incredible donations we receive from our supporters.
“This event is an amazing opportunity for us to raise money to support our services - and to celebrate the amazing people of north Scotland who come together to help us."
This year’s ball organising committee includes patron and illustrator Johanna Basford, The Archie Foundation’s head of fundraising Kelly M Anderson and project co-ordinator Sarah Pirie, trustees Holly Milne and Irene Anderson, and mum Angela Tosh, whose daughter Georgia has been supported by Archie.
The Archie Foundation exists to transform experiences and outcomes in healthcare and bereavement for babies, children and families across North Scotland, including Aberdeen, Elgin, Inverness and Dundee.
The charity’s vision is that all children in the region will have equal access to world-class healthcare and bereavement support, delivered in a child-appropriate environment and manner.
A total of 3,341 babies and children were directly supported by Archie’s services across Scotland in 2024, an increase of 15% compared to 2023, with accommodation provided for 1,205 parents over a total of 4,130 nights, allowing them to remain close to their children during a hospital stay.
