An application notice lodged with Aberdeen City Council by a developer hoping to turn the city's Lord Cullen House into 67 homes has been withdrawn.

Just days after lodging the proposal of application notice, applicant Cater Property Investments has taken the plans back off the table.

And although the move, on the face of it, appears to be a step back for the proposed development, Cater Homes has confirmed it will be subject to a "redesign".

It is understood the development is still very much on the cards and that documents will be resubmitted to the council in due course.

Lord Cullen House, on Fraser Place, was previously occupied by the Health and Safety Executive, the Met Office and VisitScotland.

The building, which has been empty for years, was bought up by Cater Group in 2021.

After years of silence, it seemed as though things were moving forward when the proposal of application notice, a very early step in the planning process.

And despite the notice now being withdrawn, it appears the plans are not completely derailed.
