Fish Shop, the popular Ballater restaurant and fishmonger is set to open up a second location - in Washington DC.
The new American location will is set to open on April 29, The Press and Journal reports, with the owners promising to look after any original Ballater customers who make the trip over to the US.
Fish Shop is managed by the husband-and-wife team Marcus and Jasmine Sherry, who are quoted as saying: "We are so proud that our little Fish Shop is crossing the pond to share our commitment to responsibly sourced seafood, love of community and the traditions of fishing – and of course our Scottish roots."
Reacting to the news, Russell Borthwick, Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce chief executive, said: “Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire are renowned for their world-class food and drink, seafood in particular.
"It's great to see a fantastic North-east business thriving and expanding to new shores. Continuing the transatlantic theme, let's hope Fish Shop's third location will be in our city centre. Let’s make Union Street great again!"
