The Industry Technology Facilitator (ITF) has welcomed Dassault Systèmes, world leader in 3D design software, 3D Digital Mock Up and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solutions, as a new member.
Dassault Systèmes sees opportunities for transferring solution experiences into oil and gas from other industries, such as aerospace and automotive, to help the industry transform its cost base and supply chain, and support sustainable growth.
ITF’s membership of oil and gas operator and service companies has funded more than 200 global joint industry projects. They collaborate on bringing forward new technologies to address the most pressing challenges identified by the oil and gas industry.
French headquartered Dassault Systemes, which employs more than 14,000 people worldwide, operates across diverse sectors including oil and gas, providing a range of scientific solutions
James Rosenshine, industry executive for Oil & Gas at Dassault Systèmes said: “We see a significant opportunity through our membership with ITF in contributing towards the oil and gas industry’s bid to tackle efficiency problems that are hampering productivity. We believe a multi-industry approach to innovation and our unique digital platform can help accelerate research and development, and deliver rapid results across a more integrated and collaborative ecosystem.”
Dassault Systèmes has successful global experience developing and deploying effective solutions for safer and optimised operations, advanced oil and gas reservoir modeling and cost saving in oil and gas production. The organisation has a diverse customer base in 12 industrial sectors and the group brings value to over 210,000 customers of all sizes, in more than 140 countries.
Dr Patrick O’Brien, CEO of ITF said: “Crossing technologies over from other industries is a proven way to get solutions to market in a cost-effective and efficient way as can be seen from the success of drone technology from the military sector and robotics from medical and aerospace. We are extremely pleased to be welcoming Dassault Systèmes to our membership. In the current climate, the industry is ever more focused on technologies with rapid deployment potential that can reduce costs and ITF is actively seeking to diversify our membership to add more expertise from sectors with cross over potential.”
