Thousands of anti-racism protestors took to the streets on Wednesday evening, claiming they had "scared off" far-right extremists.
Following a week or violence and unrest across England and Northern Ireland, police feared more than 100 protests were due to take place on Wednesday evening.
Some 6,000 riot police had been mobilised as a result.
The feared trouble didn't materialise though, as the far-right found themselves heavily outnumbered throughout the country.
Thousands of demonstrators gathered in Walthamstow chanting: "Whose streets? Our streets!", while 500 anti-fascist protestors gathered in Sheffield.
Around 200 anti-racism campaigners took to the streets of Southampton, outnumbering 50 or so anti-immigration demonstrators.
In Harrow, 200 counter-protestors said that had "no protests to counter" joking that they'd "scared off" far-right campaigners.
Pockets of trouble remained, including in Blackpool were a crowd of 50, some wearing balaclavas, were watched by police officers nearby.
