Innovators have until Friday (December 16) to submit abstracts for the ITF Technology Showcase 2017 which takes place in Aberdeen on March 1.
Technology in action – Opportunity to adopt is the overarching theme for the fourth annual conference and exhibition at the AECC and the Industry Technology Facilitator (ITF) has been impressed with the high calibre of abstracts already submitted.
Finding technologies that can be quickly adopted to improve operational efficiency and performance is set to be a major talking point at the event which features a lively plenary with leading speakers from inside and outside of oil and gas, targeted technical sessions and an innovation hall with interactive displays, poster zones, an investor zone, a tech genius bar and a silent theatre.
The technical sessions in 2017 include:
- Applied Digital Technologies to Improve Operational Efficiency and Performance
- Transformational manufacturing and new materials to reduce costs
- Emerging Inspection and Condition Monitoring Technologies to Prevent Failure in Operation and Avoid Downtime
Dr Patrick O’Brien, CEO of ITF said: “The Technology Showcase is the event that brings together the end user operator audience with the innovator community to focus on finding and funding new technologies. We’re impressed with the diverse abstracts we’ve received so far, many of which come from outside of oil and gas as there’s growing realisation that we must look out-with our own industry to solve some of the most pressing challenges around making our UK basin more competitive.”
