The North East's local leading charity committed to reducing harms associated with alcohol and drug use is looking for new Board Members following substantial growth.

DA (Drugs Action) require new Board Members with expertise in business acumen, marketing/PR or new technologies. The charity currently has a funding turnover of around £2m each year, with recent contract wins increasing the total funding further in 2015. The new Board Members will have the opportunity to affect change and help the organisation develop while maintaining the fully person centred approach it prides itself on. In the previous year end service review, a service user stated “DA was indispensable for me, they saved my life”.

The charity was recently shortlisted in this year’s AGCC Northern Star Business Awards for ‘Outstanding contribution to society’. Luan Grugeon, Chief Executive, commented “This is an exciting time for the organisation as we have been successful in growing the range and capacity of our services in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire. We are also delighted to be named as a finalist in the Northern Star Awards in recognition of the significant contribution we make to local people and their families in the North East. The new Board Members’ expertise will help guide our continued success and ensure we remain a charity equipped to have the biggest impact we can in the 21st century”.

The closing date to apply to become a board member at DA is July 13, 2015. For further information regarding this opportunity contact hr@drugsaction.co.uk or call 01224 577120.
