Continued growth sees new associates for architects

Following a period of expansion and including a recent rebranding exercise, North-east Architects Practice, Lippe Architects + Planners, announced the appointment of two further Associates today.

In response to continued demand from clients, Lippe Architects + Planners, with offices in Aberdeen and Inverurie, have appointed Debbie Anderson, an Associate Member of the Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland along with Lesley Tierney who is a Chartered Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute.

Technical director Stuart Naysmith commented, “We are delighted to make these appointments at this time of consistent growth. Debbie has been with our Practice for 10 years and has acquired a wealth of experience and local knowledge. Lesley’s expertise in the planning process brings an increased ability to guide our clients through the current complex system.

Lesley, who joined the company at the end of 2014 added, “The addition of specialist planning knowledge supports our primary aims of delivering successful planning permissions for clients and we can achieve the best outcomes for their requirements”.

Debbie, who has a particular interest in historical architecture, has worked with some key clients, including the Tivoli Theatre Company and the Townscape Heritage Initiative, gaining extensive knowledge of conservation in architecture and is currently working towards accreditation in building conservation from the RIAS.

Reflecting the depth of expertise from historic to current day, Lippe Architects + Planners recently won a tender to design and develop 99 new homes on the site formerly occupied by Smithfield School in the Middlefield area of Aberdeen. The innovative design brief by Aberdeen City Council was to “create inspirational 21st Century family housing which is high quality, economic, sustainable, energy efficient and incorporate a high degree of flexibility to meet the future needs of tenants.”

Work on the project began with the initial Phase One is March and due for completion May 2017 with Phase Two due for completion April 2018.
