A major Aberdeen business deal is at risk as Britain's competition watchdog is to investigate the sale of Westhill-headquartered Entier.
The North-east catering company was bought by the multi-billion-dollar US firm Aramark in February, for an undisclosed sum.
The firm, which is Scotland's largest independent caterer, was founded by chef Peter Bruce in 2008 and currently employs 700 people internationally.
However, the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has now issued an initial enforcement order against both Aramark and Entier, halting any integration or transfer of ownership until further review.
The CMA will assess whether the merger might cause a “substantial lessening of competition” within the industry, and will have the power to block the deal if it's likely to harm competition.
