An impressive turnout of more than 3,000 attendees visited the Grampian Transport Museum on Sunday, April 28 for the Alford Autojumble and Classic Vehicle Auction.
Now in its second year at the Autojumble, the classic auction facilitated by Thainstone Specialist Auctions (TSA) saw 25 classic and vintage vehicles entered, comprising of cars, motorcycles and tractors. A nicely restored Morris Mini 850 pick-up truck achieved the top selling price on the day of £13,200.
Other top prices from the auction include a classic John Cooper Edition Mini Cooper achieving £3,100, two tractors – a Fordson Dexta and a grey Massey Ferguson – selling for £2,900 and £2,100 respectively, and a 1956 Triumph Thunderbird motorcycle which realised £2,050.
TSA business development manager, Neil Simpson, said: “We had a fantastic showing of buyers in attendance at the auction which saw a strong selection of fully restored and classic vehicles go under the hammer. Bidders were spirited on a number of the vehicles, and we saw a handful of impressive prices achieved throughout the afternoon.
“There is a large community of classic car enthusiasts in Scotland, and many were in attendance on the day, with buyers travelling from Inverness and Lossiemouth in addition to phone bidders from Derby. We also received international inquiries from as far as Canada and Australia.
“We are delighted to have brought the classic car auction back to the Autojumble for a second year, and are pleased with the outcome. The combined effort between the Grampian Transport Museum and TSA ensured the success of this year’s Autojumble, and we’d like to thank the GTM and TSA teams for the hard work and dedication they put in to hosting this fantastic event.”
The next event hosted by TSA will be a sale of vintage and classic tractors on Saturday, May 4. For more information, please visit tsaauctions.co.uk.
