City’s biggest student shopping event set to return to Bon Accord

Bon Accord’s annual student lockdown event on September 26 is set to start this semester in style – bringing an exciting night of exclusive discounts, food and drink, live music, makeovers and entertainment to students in Aberdeen.

Now in it’s seventh year, the event starts at 6.30pm and will give students exclusive access to the centre, where they can snap up one-night-only offers and deals from shops and restaurants including Topshop, New Look, River Island, Yo Sushi!, Boots and John Lewis, with up to 50% off in some stores.

There will also be exciting competitions, giveaways, live entertainment and food and drink to enjoy, with Revolution partnering the event to provide live music, drinks and freebees.

Last year saw a record 7,000 students attend the event, with a queue forming outside the centre from 3pm on the day. Visitors must present their valid student ID to get access to this exclusive event.

Craig Stevenson, centre manager, said: “The student lockdown is back and the deals are better than ever. It’s great being able to offer an exclusive event to the students of the city, as it’s the perfect way to add excitement to the start of the semester, and welcome new students to Aberdeen.

“We will be running competitions in the run up to the event with gift cards and VIP passes to the event to be won – keep an eye on our social media channels to find out how to take part.

“It’s set to be our biggest turnout yet and we are looking forward to welcoming all the students to the centre.”
