The first Gathimba Edwards Foundation's Christmas Fair, which takes place on November 17, will see the launch of a new toy campaign.
Most kids in Kenya do not have luxuries like toys. Last Christmas, the Foundation had the privilege of being able to provide all the children it supports with a gift and they would love to do it again.
This year, they are starting a new venture which will hope will make a huge impact to the kids in Kenya.
They are inviting children of all ages to donate one toy to support the campaign. Toy stalls will be at every one of the Foundation's events, the first being the Christmas Fair at Rubislaw Church Centre, 1 Beaconsfield Place, Aberdeen, AB15 4AB, 11am to 2pm.
Both new and second hand toys can be donated but parents are asked to check they are working/don’t have parts missing and can be sold on.
"We believe this is a great way to help the younger generation understand about children in poorer countries and feel they are contributing in their own way. By giving up just one toy your child would help change the lives of less fortunate children in Kenya." said a charity spokesperson.
Toys can also be dropped off at the office on Albert Street in Aberdeen at any time during opening hours.
