The Ledingham Chalmers Employment Café will open again in Aberdeen on December 15 from 12.30pm to 2pm.
Once again it is time for the end of year Christmas special in which the Ledingham Chalmers team review some of the major developments in employment law in 2016. Matters to be considered include:
- employers’ rights to check on an employee’s “personal” computer use ( we all appreciate that Santa knows when we are sleeping etc. but what about our Right to Privacy)?
- just how much trouble can we get into by expressing any opinions in references (can you sue if, yet again, you find yourself on the Naughty List)? and
- just where are we with Holiday Pay (will the Elves’ productivity bonuses come back to haunt Santa when they all have a well earned break on Christmas Day)?
- disability discrimination and pay
Krampus will also return to make sure that staff discipline is handled correctly.
Finally, the team cannot wish goodbye to 2016 without touching on Brexit.
In particular, is it possible to negotiate a trade deal with the North Pole or will we see an end to the Free Movement of Reindeers in the UK?
