Christmas shoppers looking for
something a little bit different this year are being invited to come along and
enjoy an evening of festive cheer at Chapelton on Thursday (December 1).
The Chapelton Christmas Shopping
evening kicks off at 4pm at The Boxes, where shoppers can enjoy special offers
and discounts, hot dogs, and a chance to meet Santa.
Businesses taking part in this
year’s event are: RedRocks, the Omnia, Esker Gin, Fits the Scoop, AB Wellness
& Reflexology, Replenish Chapelton, Lou Sells mini edition, Devenick Drinks
Co, and Mr Dun Barber.
Organiser and jewellery maker
Claire Notarangelo, who owns RedRocks, said they are hoping to build on the
success of last year’s Chapelton Christmas Shopping evening.
She said: “We are expecting a good
few hundred people to turn up for the event. It’s a great opportunity to
support local businesses, while shopping for a big range of different gifts in
a relaxed environment off the high street. It is also an easy to reach location
with free parking.
“I have been at The Boxes for the
past 14 months and I have been overwhelmed with how supportive the North-east
community has been.”
Santa’s Grotto will be open for
all younger visitors from 5.30pm until 7.15pm. The Aberdeen Chorus of Sweet
Adelines Choir will join Chapelton Community Association and Santa to light up
Hume Square with the switching on of the town’s Christmas lights at 6pm.
