Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce is celebrating a successful 12 months with the news that it has secured its Investors in People Accreditation.

Having been crowned the UK Chamber of the Year by the British Chambers of Commerce at the end of last year, the team has received a resounding thumbs-up and praise for its strong sense of working as one team.

The report states, ““There is a strong sense of continuous improvement. There is a definite sense of pride in working for the Chamber.

“The achievement of British Chamber of the Year has given a real confidence in the performance and the potential of the business.

“The data from staff surveys confirms the positive attitude and behaviours in place. The ‘One Team’ ethos is permeating … day-to-day operations.”

The Chamber has successfully met and maintained its accreditation since October 2000. Investors in People sets the standard for better people management, with its internationally recognised standard defining what it takes to lead, support and manage people well for sustainable results.

Chief executive Robert Collier said the results reflected the positive feedback on the organisation from member surveys.

“The assessor reinforced what staff already know: there is a definite sense of pride in working for the Chamber. The team here has a shared and impressive commitment to achieving our aims and objectives,” he said.

“This tops off an outstanding year for us, and we will continue to build on this success, striving for continuous improvement and keeping our members at the heart of the Chamber.”
