THE Chamber’s finance & administration director Gordon Prentice is retiring at the end of summer.
After more than 10 years at the Chamber, he has decided to step down from his post at the end of August.
Gordon joined the Chamber in 2006 with considerable retail and telecommunications experience in different parts of the UK, and having spent five years as an advisor with local public sector business support agencies before establishing his own consultancy practice.
“Working at the Chamber has been a hugely fulfilling experience, and I have thoroughly enjoyed every minute," he said.
“I’ve seen many changes over the last decade, not least the introduction of our research arm and the move into our new facility here at The Hub in 2012 to give us the capacity we needed.
“I’ll certainly miss my colleagues and working with a whole host of clients and contacts throughout the region, but I’ve come to realise that working full time just isn’t giving me enough time to pursue the other interests I have, not all of them golf-related!
"It really is a great place to work, and will be a real opportunity for someone new."
Chief executive Russell Borthwick said: “Although I have only worked with Gordon for a short period, it is clear that he has played a big part in what the Chamber has achieved and we wish him all the very best for whatever the next chapter may hold for him.”
