Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce (AGCC) has today donated IT equipment to charity Stella's Voice, which will take it to Ukraine in time for Christmas.
The charity, founded in 1996, exists to help vulnerable people overseas.
"At the minute in Ukraine there are thousands of orphans that weren't orphans at the start of the war," said Mark Morgan, chief executive.
He continued: "They've either lost their parents as a result of the conflict directly on the front line or as a result of the bombing and the consequences of that.
"We are taking aid over there. In the warzones kids aren't in school so there's a screaming need for technology so kids can continue learning so these computers will go and assist that.
"All that stuff disappears as a result of the conflict so there's pending looming crisis. We're going to send as much aid as possible. The more help we get, the more we can do."
AGCC, in total, has donated 27 PCs, 16 screens, 10 screen arms, 23 under desk mounts, 25 keyboards and 22 mice to the charity, which will send the equipment on a truck full of aid, ranging from food, toiletries and bikes, over to Ukraine in time for Christmas.
"This is the third winter Ukraine are about to enter since the start of the conflict and we're talking to people on the ground and they're all saying this is going to be the worst by a country mile," Mark added.
"We don't think it's going to end soon, and even if the conflict ended soon, we're still looking at decades of rebuilding and people are going to need help. Without that help, without provision, shelter, what do they do?
"Anybody suffering is not good. But when you're a kid, without help, you have no means of sorting this yourself, you have no means of providing for yourself, so the help becomes more acute and all the more critical."
