Aberdeen is being recognised for its world-class attractions and festive spirit - in no small part due to the success of the Aberdeen Christmas Village.
Research by rail operator LNER named the Granite City the second most festive out of 88 towns and cities in the UK, while experts at UK HIdden Gems placed Aberdeen top of their list of the best places to visit in Scotland in December.
The Daily Record reports UK Hidden Gems lavished praise on Aberdeen after finding it the best place in Scotland to visit in December.
It said: "Aberdeen is perfect for nature lovers, offering easy access to the breathtaking Cairngorms National Park and the famous Dolphin Spotting tours at the harbour.
"History buffs will love exploring its ancient castles, like Dunnottar Castle, perched dramatically on cliffs overlooking the sea.
"The city also has a vibrant arts scene, with galleries, festivals, and live music.
"Whether you're wandering through the historic Old Aberdeen or enjoying a meal of fresh, locally caught seafood, Aberdeen offers a mix of adventure, culture, and tranquillity that feels like stepping into a Scottish fairytale."
This recognition tells North-east folk what they knew already and reflects the incredible work and collaboration of ‘Team Aberdeen’, our businesses and the wider community.
The Research Chamber at AGCC has conducted the Christmas Village evaluation since 2015 in partnership with Aberdeen Inspired and Codonas.
Its visitor surveys capture what people love most about the Christmas Village, while stallholder feedback ensures a diverse and engaging range of offerings helping the organisers refine and evolve the experience year on year. Through comprehensive studies - including feedback from visitors, stallholders, and local businesses the Research Chamber has gained invaluable insights into the market’s impact on Aberdeen’s city centre footfall, economy, vibrancy, and festive spirit.
