A strategic marketing agency, bspoq, has celebrated its fifth anniversary with a senior promotion and the opening of a new office in Edinburgh.

Headquartered in Aberdeen, bspoq specialises in helping firms in both B2B and B2C markets grow their revenue online and offline. Since its launch in 2019, the company has quadrupled from three people to 12 members of staff – with further recruitment anticipated this year.

Office space has also increased by 50% over the past two years with bspoq taking an additional 520 sq. ft at Crombie Lodge in the city’s Bridge of Don area to house its growing team, alongside a five-figure investment in new technology, equipment, desks, furniture, and redecorating.

In addition to the company’s recruitment drive, bspoq has promoted a key member of staff with Kylie Moles appointed chief marketing and operations officer. She will be strategically embedded in clients’ accounts and have responsibility for implementing a more efficient structure and operating model, while working alongside founder and CEO, Matt Sandham, on the company’s direction and overall strategy.

The opening of an additional office in Edinburgh, located at 93 George Street, marks a significant step in bspoq’s growth journey and will help to drive new commercial and partnership opportunities.

Scotland’s capital is viewed as an important growth area for bspoq against the backdrop of rising demand for its services, particularly from innovative firms operating in the retail and wholesale sectors, among others.

Matt Sandham will initially head up the new Edinburgh office, while recruitment is planned for later this year. He commented: “This is a landmark moment for bspoq. We see enormous potential for our expertise in Edinburgh and the surrounding area, having already made several positive connections and relationships.

“We look forward to engaging further with local businesses and organisations and expect that having a strong local presence, with the ability to meet new contacts face-to-face, will allow us to accelerate our growth outwith our traditional north-east home.”

Previously the company’s head of marketing, Kylie Moles was one of the founding employees of bspoq and has since been made a partner.

She is a Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) accredited professional with a passion for consumer behaviour and marketing psychology, having worked in commerce and marketing for over 15 years – notably in the fashion industry in Paris, prior to joining bspoq.

She said: “I’m excited to have been given the opportunity and challenge to help further develop our business. My new role as CMOO will allow me to continue supporting our team while strengthening relationships with both existing and future clients. In addition, I will also now be focusing some of my time on developing bspoq inside and out.

“With a skilled team of 12 marketers, I’m confident we can take bspoq to the next level this year, with new partnerships, promotions and milestones ahead.

“I would like to say a big thank you to our clients, partners and suppliers who have supported us over the past five years. We look forward to them continuing to play a part in our next chapter of growth.”

Matt Sandham added: “Having worked closely with Kylie since the formation of the company, I have seen first-hand the positive contribution she has made to the business, our team and clients over the past five years.

“During this time, Kylie has demonstrated her leadership skills and depth of knowledge and understanding. She is the natural choice for this newly-created role to help drive further performance improvements across all aspects of the business and help realise our full potential.”
