Members of the North-East business community are invited to apply for the 2022 Elevator Awards, the region’s prestigious awards ceremony dedicated to celebrating the outstanding achievements and commitments made by business leaders and entrepreneurs over the last twelve months.
Entries for the competition, which is partnered by Royal Bank of Scotland, officially open at 12:00 noon today and will close in one month’s time. The winners will be announced at the black-tie event which will be held on June 23, at the Ardoe House Hotel & Spa in Aberdeen. Over 400 guests will come together to honour business excellence, outstanding entrepreneurs, inspirational mentors, and businesses at every stage of their journey, along with innovations and community impact organisations.
Applications may now be submitted online through the Elevator Awards website. There are eleven categories for this year, including the new award for ‘Net Zero Emerging Company of the Year’ – sponsored by the Net Zero Technology Centre. 2022 is a special year for the Awards. Not only does it see their return after a two year absence due to CV19, but it also marks a very significant coming of age milestone. This will be the 21st Elevator Awards, which promises to be quite an occasion…
Professor Gary McEwan, Chief Executive Officer of Elevator, officially launched the Awards this morning and commented: “It is fair to say that we have been waiting a very long time for this special announcement – in fact too long. The last two years have been very challenging for many businesses, so it is even more imperative that we now join together to showcase and celebrate the successes and achievements of the North-east’s finest.
"During these difficult times, Elevator and Royal Bank of Scotland has continued to play their part in supporting and nurturing Scotland’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. The true heroes in this story are the elite entrepreneurial talent that have emerged from across this region. The resilience and hunger they have shown merits significant recognition.
"I would invite, and positively encourage, all entrepreneurs, individuals and concerns, from across Aberdeen City and Shire to be proud of their achievements and apply now to tell their story at the 2022 Elevator Awards.”
Royal Bank of Scotland, a long term supporter of the Elevator Awards, is the principal partner once again for 2022.
Russell Whyte, Director, Commercial Banking, Royal Bank of Scotland, said: “The Elevator Awards are a fantastic celebration of the talent, diversity and strength that the North-east business community has to offer.
“Following the challenges everyone in the region has experienced over the last two years, it is also an opportunity to recognise the adaptability, optimism and resilience organisations here have shown.
“Royal Bank of Scotland is delighted once again to support these awards and we would encourage everyone this year who has the chance to take part.”
At the last Elevator Awards in 2019, Ben Leonard, Consultant at benleonard.pro, won the title of Emerging Entrepreneur. Reflecting back on this, he said that “The Elevator Awards provided me with the motivation to develop as an entrepreneur and to move my company forward. Being nominated inspired me to grow as an individual and as a business owner. Winning gave me something tangible in exchange for my efforts. These awards provide entrepreneurs with motivation to keep going, a goal to strive for, and the recognition they deserve.”
Applications are now open online at www.elevatorawards.com, with a closing date of Monday, March 21, at 5pm.
