Who has been the biggest influence on your career?

I have been fortunate enough to work with several people who have really supported me, however, one of my first managers always taught me that you do not have to be ruthless all the time in business to be successful, and it is something I remind myself of everyday!

Most effective piece of training or personal development undertaken?

‘Ask the question, then shut up’ It might sound harsh; but I used to hate awkward silences and loved to talk which meant I filled silences with irrelevant information! These words still ring in my ears every single time I ask a question, and having spent over 20 years in sales, it has been valuable – trust me!

The biggest lesson you’ve learned in business?

It is okay to make mistakes! Without making mistakes, how would we ever evolve and learn?! Also, I learned that a difference of opinion will often lead to a solution!

Proudest career achievement to date?

Becoming General Manager at ATPI after joining as a Junior Account Manager back in 2013 – I still pinch myself!

Best thing about doing business in the North-east of Scotland?

The energy industry is simply fascinating, the entire supply chain is significant, and I learn something new from our clients every single day! As the industry continues to evolve and transition new opportunities arise.
