Two charities are set to share in a cash injection totalling more than £4,500 thanks to a recent celebration of Robert Burns in Aberdeen.

The much-anticipated return of the Granite Burns Supper took place at Macdonald Norwood Hall Hotel and, as well as traditional and contemporary addresses, the evening also featured networking opportunities and a variety of entertainment, compered by Steven J. Innes.

Thanks to an auction, raffle and fun activities almost £4,500 was raised for Chest, Heart & Stroke Scotland (CHSS) and Microphthalmia, Anophthalmia & Coloboma Support (MACS), a small national charity that supports people born without eyes or with underdeveloped eyes, and their families.

Such has been the success of the event, that plans are afoot to repeat The Granite Burns Supper on January 23, 2026 and create a brand-new St Andrew’s Day networking event on Friday, November 25.

Commenting on the evening, event creator Brett Jackson of Granite PR said: “The return of the Granite Burns Supper provided an excellent start to a new year of events, during which we are looking forward to growing our offering to include some new dates on the calendar.

“We are also delighted to have successfully raised important funds for two very worthwhile causes thanks to everyone who supported us so generously on the night.”

John Leadbeater of MACS added: “The Granite Burns Supper was a fantastic evening filled with great company, entertainment, and generosity. We are incredibly grateful to have been one of the benefiting charities. The funds raised will make a real difference to the people we support. A huge thank you to Brett Jackson and the team for organising such a successful event—we’re already looking forward to 2026!”

Anne Magarin of Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland said: “A huge thank you to everybody who braved the storm to attend the event and donated so generously. It is thoroughly appreciated by everybody at Chest, Heart & Stroke Scotland. The funds raised will provide more than 110 hours of one-to-one support to people living with chest, heart and stroke conditions as well as long covid.”
