Visitors will also have the chance to find out about tinnitus, wax removal, new technology from leading hearing aid manufacturers and other hearing services. The event will welcome members of the public to drop by at any time from 10am to 3pm.
Every visitor will also be entered into a free prize draw to win a pair of the latest Phonak BELONG rechargeable hearing devices worth £4000.
Jayne Bryce, audiologist and owner of Bryce Hearing Services, comments: “We are very excited to host this new event in the city at such a beautiful location. It occurred to us that there was a need to increase awareness of hearing related issues and services available to the people of Aberdeen and the Shire. People regularly get their eyes and teeth checked by visiting the opticians or dentist, but hearing is generally neglected and not routinely tested.
“The show is not just about hearing loss, it’s about hearing awareness and preservation. People from teenagers to pensioners are often not aware of the damage they could be doing to their hearing during day-to-day life. For example, the noise under a helmet whilst riding a motorbike can be as loud as 90 dB SPL, which is louder than what would be considered a safe level for prolonged exposure.
“From tinnitus advice, an opportunity to research new technology, wax removal, screenings, hearing protection and many other hearing related services, this is your chance to experience them at this dedicated event. If you ever wanted to see inside your ear canal down to your ear drum, you’ll get the chance to do this too, with our latest technology.”
