Bridge Industrial Supplies Ltd made a very generous donation to local charity Instant Neighbour by offering over 100 mattresses with a value of over £7000.
The brand new mattresses will be donated this week, allowing the charity to have them available for those in need just in time for Christmas.
Instant Neighbour provides active support to vulnerable people who need practical assistance and advice to maintain a stable lifestyle, as well as giving those who are less fortunate the help and the hope of a better life. They run the Giving Tree, now in its 25th year, providing children across the North East with a gift at Christmas. Supported by business and the general public Instant Neighbour distributed 6000 gifts in 2014 and anticipate a similar amount this year.
Instant Neighbour also run a food bank from which they have been delivering food parcels to those in need for over 30 years and expect to have delivered an astonishing 4300 parcels over the course of 2015.
Mark Gray, Managing Director of Bridge Industrial Supplies Ltd spoke of the donation:
“In this difficult financial time, we understand that more and more people are needing that extra helping hand and we really admire everything that Instant Neighbour does to support the local community.
“The charity do a fantastic job of making the lives of the less fortunate in Aberdeen that little bit easier and we wanted to do anything we could to help the process. As a supplier of a wide variety of industry specific supplies, we were more than happy to offer Instant Neighbour brand new single size mattresses that we hope bring a little comfort to those who receive them.

“It’s really easy for us to take things like having a comfortable bed to sleep on at night for granted, but to some this is a luxury. We really appreciate this gift, without the generosity of the local community and businesses like Bridge, we simply would not be able to support so many people. Having a new, clean mattress really will make a massive difference to someone’s life; especially as the winter months are upon us.”
