Ride-hailing firm Uber has finally launched in Aberdeen, with customers able to book private-hire cars to travel around the city.
The long-awaited arrival has come in spite of fierce opposition from taxi firms in Aberdeen.
The soft-launch sees customers able to book an Uber via the firm's app, but a full launch is expected to follow in the coming weeks.
Uber's head of cities, Matthew Freckleton, had previously told the ChamberTalk podcast that the ride hailing company would be looking to go "formally live" in Aberdeen "by the end of August".
But a legal challenge delayed matters before it was withdrawn, leaving the way clear for the popular service to set up in the city.
The Press and Journal has reported Uber has managed to recruit more than two dozen drivers as it stands, with plans to bring more on board as well as training new drivers.
The move is hoped to boost Aberdeen's night time economy, with revelers often facing huge queues and lengthy waits for a taxi home at present.
