Big Mannys’ Pizza, which is due to open a second unit in Aberdeen in the next few weeks, has received a six-figure investment boost – less than a year after it was launched.

Simon Cowie, managing partner at award-winning Aberdeen accountancy firm Infinity Partnership, has made the investment in Big Mannys’ Pizza and becomes a director and advisor to the founders.

Famous for its large pizzas, Big Mannys’ Pizza could be employing 100 people in the next few months. The first site operates out of one of Aberdeen’s most well-known bars – The Adams on Holburn Street. A second site is due to open near Pittodrie at the beginning of November. When both units are up and running, Big Mannys’ Pizza has set an initial target of producing at least 7,000 pizzas a week.

Big Manny’s Pizza wanted an investor who was also an advisor, akin to Dragon’s Den. They call Simon the Fourth Big Manny and their fire-breathing dragon. In addition, collaboration with other north-east food and drink producers has been pivotal to its success.

Infinity Partnership, based on Carden Place, is a five-time winner at the British Accountancy Awards. As part of the investment deal, Simon is a director at Big Mannys’ Pizza.
