Leading Aberdeenshire housebuilding and construction firm Bancon Group is to mark the start of its 50th anniversary celebrations through its sponsoring of one of the key elements at this year’s Homes for Scotland Annual Lunch & Awards, the premier event in the Scottish home building calendar.
The event also marks Homes for Scotland’s 25th anniversary and will take place at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre on Friday 30 May 2025, with more than 650 senior sector leaders and guests already confirmed to attend.
Bancon is sponsoring the event’s “In Conversation” session featuring renowned architect, broadcaster and campaigner George Clarke, best known for hosting popular TV programmes such as The Restoration Man, Old House, New Home and George Clarke’s Remarkable Renovations.
He is also the author of several books, including Home Bible, Build a New Life: by Creating Your New Home and Building a Home, written for children.
Mr Clarke will be discussing the concept of ‘home’ and the importance of delivering more high-quality housing across Scotland.
During what is an important legacy year for both organisations, the sponsorship underpins Bancon Group’s ongoing commitment to quality, innovation and sustainability in housebuilding, construction and timberframe solutions.
Established in 1975, the group has grown from a modest estate joinery business into one of Scotland’s leading housebuilding and construction groups.

Jamie Tosh, managing director of Bancon Homes and Bancon Construction, said the partnership was the perfect way to mark the milestone anniversaries.
“As we celebrate our own 50th anniversary, we are honoured to support Homes for Scotland and its vital work in advocating for the delivery of more homes,” he said.
“Sponsoring this flagship event is a reflection of our ongoing commitment to delivering high-quality private and affordable homes and sustainable communities across Scotland, with a focus on excellence, contemporary design and sustainable building practices.
“We look forward to engaging with industry peers and celebrating our shared achievements.”
Homes for Scotland chief executive Jane Wood said: “We are delighted at Bancon Group’s support for our Annual Lunch & Awards which has extra special importance this year as we mark Homes for Scotland’s 25th anniversary.
“One year on from the declaration of a national housing emergency, Scotland is still struggling to deliver the range and choice of homes that it needs for the country’s social wellbeing and economic success. We will be reflecting on this with George Clarke during discussion as well as recognising the best practice and high quality development taking place across the country through our awards.”
