A recently established name in the local finance market is celebrating its third anniversary with news that it has been nominated for a prestigious industry award.

Aberdeen-based Drummond Finance has reached the shortlist for the Coronavirus Business Interruption Loan Scheme (CBILS) Broker of the Year category at the Commercial Broker Awards 2021. This recognises the brokerages which best utilised the precursor to the Recovery Loan Scheme to provide a vital lifeline to businesses impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Operated by the National Association of Commercial Finance Brokers (NACFB), the awards are judged by a panel of industry experts and will be announced at Edgbaston Cricket Ground on Wednesday, September 29.

Drummond Finance is headed by managing director Alex Drummond who helps a range of local SMEs to secure finance by representing them and their interests to prospective lenders. Using extensive knowledge gained during 36 years with major banks, Alex assists clients with the sourcing and securing of all types of commercial finance, including growth finance, working capital, property investment and development. Drummond Finance has access to a portfolio of more than 150 commercial lenders resulting in greater choice and flexibility in how funding can be sourced and secured for local businesses.

Commenting on his company’s position as one of a handful of Scottish finalists, Alex Drummond said: “From the outset, the key driver behind Drummond Finance has been a desire to bring a fresh new approach to commercial finance and offer our clients greater choice and flexibility in how their funding can be sourced and secured.

“By helping them access CBILS funding, Drummond Finance has been able to work alongside local businesses to help them steer a course through unprecedented times.”

Commenting on the astounding number of worth entries received in this year’s Commercial Broker Awards, NACFB managing director Norman Chambers added: “The quality and quantity made both judging and determining the shortlist very difficult.”
