ASCO, the leading provider of specialist logistics services to the global oil and gas industry, has been honoured for its commitment to health and safety in the workplace by receiving the BG East Africa President’s HSSE Award.
The BG East Africa President’s Award is a widely acknowledged quarterly event that shines the spotlight on outstanding examples of HSSE leadership behaviour in BG East Africa’s One Team.
Stevenson Murray, Head of HSSE for BG East Africa explaining the award said: “Building and maturing the HSSE culture is a key business driver and the culture only becomes sustainable when the growth starts from the sharp end. The means to grow the HSSE culture at the sharp end is by recognising and celebrating safety leadership and reinforcing good behaviour.”
On receiving the award, Paul Gilks, Country Manager for ASCO Tanzania said: “The recent award recognition from BG East Africa demonstrates our commitment to improving HSSE collaboratively with our clients and celebrates ASCO’s commitment to leading health and safety excellence while recognising the efforts of the Mtwara Supply Base team who have contributed to this safety success.”

In 2014, BG East Africa recognised three individual ASCO employees in Tanzania for their outstanding contribution to HSSE.
