ALM Safety Training Ltd are delighted to launch an Asbestos Awareness distance learning training course in conjunction with one of their partners, Entec Scotland who are Scotland’s leading asbestos services consultancy.
With over 4,000 people dying in the UK each year from asbestos exposure, it is vital that employees are able to both recognise materials containing asbestos and avoid the corresponding risks of asbestos.
It is a legal requirement that all employers must give adequate information, instruction and training to all employees who are liable to be exposed to asbestos.
The course provides delegates with the knowledge and understanding of asbestos awareness, and is aimed at all employees who may be liable to disturb asbestos while carrying out their normal everyday work, or who may influence how work is carried out, such as:
- General Maintenance Workers, Electricians, Plumbers, Joiners
- Painters, Decorators and Plasterers
- Construction Workers, Roofers, Shop fitters
- Gas Fitters, Heating and Ventilation Engineers
- Demolition Workers, Telecommunication Engineers
- Fire/Burglar Alarm Installers, Computer Installers
- Architects, Building Surveyors etc.
The course also ensures compliance with the relevant legislation including:
- Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012
- Health and Safety at Work etc., Act 1974
Like ALM's other distance learning courses, the Asbestos Awareness course is designed to be completed as a "self development correspondence course", which means that the delegate can decide how, when and where to carry out their studies and can ensure the delegate can prioritise their time, both at home and at work.
The course is provided via an online portal where the module, questionnaire and certificate can be accessed and at under 2 hours to complete and only £25.00 plus VAT per delegate presents efficient use of time at an affordable cost.
