Arnlea, an Aberdeen-based software company specialising in field inspection solutions for the energy sector, recently dedicated a day to volunteering at Murtle Estate, home to Camphill School Aberdeen.

The volunteer day was part of Arnlea’s ongoing commitment to supporting Camphill School Aberdeen, their chosen charity of the year for 2024.

Camphill School Aberdeen is a local charity that provides essential support to children and young people, many with additional support needs, helping them reach their full potential. Arnlea is proud to contribute to this remarkable organisation, which aligns closely with the company’s values of community engagement and social responsibility.

The volunteer day saw the enthusiastic Arnlea team rolling up their sleeves to paint the outdoor riding area adjacent to the horse stables at Murtle Estate. Fortunately, the typically unpredictable Scottish weather stayed bright and dry, adding to the enjoyable atmosphere as the team worked together on their project.

In addition to their hands-on work, the Arnlea team took the opportunity to tour the estate and learn more about the inspiring and invaluable work carried out by Camphill School Aberdeen. They were particularly interested in the school’s current capital appeal projects, including the construction of an 11-bedroom residential house, the creation of Aberdeen’s first fully inclusive outdoor sensory adventure and learning playground, and the development of Murtle Market - a ‘zero-waste’ organic farm shop and sustainable social enterprise.

Commenting on the day, Allan Merritt, chief executive officer of Arnlea, said, “Supporting Camphill School Aberdeen is a privilege for us at Arnlea. Their dedication to helping young people achieve their full potential is truly admirable, and it was rewarding to contribute in a small way to their fantastic work. The entire team thoroughly enjoyed the day and left feeling inspired by the school’s mission and facilities.”

Charlotte Henderson, fundraising executive at Camphill School Aberdeen commented, “It was great to have Arnlea here at Camphill School Aberdeen. I want to say a massive thank you for all their hard work. The outdoor riding arena looks amazing, and Sarah, the workshop leader, is absolutely delighted that it has been painted. The time that the Arnlea team spent here giving back to our community is very much appreciated by all at Camphill. I was pleased to hear that the team were still smiling at the end of the day!”

Arnlea looks forward to continuing its partnership with Camphill School Aberdeen throughout 2024, with more events and initiatives planned to support this remarkable organisation.
