The Archie Foundation’s annual Burns Night event is making a come-back after pandemic restrictions forced it to be postponed. The delayed supper will now take place on March 11, 2022 at The Chester Hotel.
The charity which supports sick and bereaved children and their families will welcome hosts Northsound 1’s Lauren Mitchell, Colin Slessor, of hit BBC programme The Mart and oil industry stalwart Ray Riddoch, with support from Iron Broo Ceilidh Band and Robert Gordons Pipers – making it a night to remember.
There is still time for companies to be part of this fantastic evening. Archie currently has two tables still available. All proceeds raised from the evening will go towards The Baird Family Hospital appeal. The new hospital will include all of the services currently provided at Aberdeen Maternity Hospital, as well as other clinical services such as Neonatal services, Operating Theatres and Gynaecology Services. Due to be completed in December 2023, Archie has raised £800k towards the £2m target so far and are hoping to reach the £1m mark soon.
Money raised from the night will help to fund the vital finishing touches and additional specialist equipment that will transform this clinically state-of-the-art hospital into a world-class facility.
Paula Cormack, Chief Executive Officer for The Archie Foundation, said: “We are really excited to get back to in person events and can’t wait for the night itself. We have two tables remaining and I am sure there will be businesses or families who would love to come along to and dance the night away, all whilst supporting local babies, children and their families.
“The Baird Family Hospital is such an important project for the city and we are honoured to be a part of it, raising £2m is no mean feat, we really need the support of the local community help us achieve our goal.”
As well as a Burns supper and ceilidh, the night will also feature an auction with items including donations from the Scottish Rugby Union, INEOS Grenadiers Cycling Team, The Chester Hotel and many others.
