The ASET International Energy Training Academy has strengthened its board of directors with three key appointments.
The Aberdeen-based company, a wholly-owned subsidiary of North East Scotland College (NESCol), provides a wide range of training for the energy, engineering and construction industries in areas including process, maintenance engineering, electrical, ex hazardous areas, emergency response and marine.
The three new directors are Mark Fotheringham, Karen Glen and Robin McGregor. They join Chair John Reid, Chief Executive Atholl Menzies and Stuart Thompson, NESCol Vice Principal Finance and Resource, on the board.
Mark Fotheringham has extensive engineering and project management experience in the UK and overseas. He is currently the technical director of an energy engineering consultancy and is a Chartered Engineer and Chartered Project Professional as well as a Fellow of the Association for Project Management.
Karen Glen gained a broad range of experience working at senior level in both the public and private sector before founding her own training company in 2013. She worked in global organisations including Johnson & Johnson and AstraZeneca as well as heading up the Skills Development Scotland careers service for the Scottish Government.
Robin McGregor is Vice Principal Curriculum and Quality at NESCol, with responsibility for the strategic leadership of academic, student support, quality and commercial functions. With more than 18 years of experience in the Scottish college sector, he serves as a board member of the National Energy Skills Accelerator (NESA).

ASET continues to service energy clients worldwide and has adapted its training offer to develop capacity for training in renewable energy, with the company approved by the Global Wind Organisation (GWO) and OPITO to meet recognised international industry standards.
The company also operates in a range of sectors outside of the energy sphere, including working with distillery owners and healthcare providers, in delivering a broad training portfolio.
