Leading farmer-owned co-operative, the ANM Group, has announced the retirement of Robbie Gordon, Office Manager at the Caithness Livestock Centre, Quoybrae, who will finish his full-time career with the Group at the end of June.
Mr Gordon’s 45-year career was celebrated by his family, friends and colleagues last week at the Caithness Livestock Centre, as he was presented with a farewell gift from ANM Group’s Chairman Pat Machray.
Mr Gordon started his career at the Wick mart in 1970 after leaving school, which then saw him progress to canvassing in 1986, and eventually taking over from Ian Innes as Cashier and Canvasser with overall responsibility for the office.
Speaking at the event, John Gregor, Executive Director of ANM Group, said: “Robbie has been a loyal employee of Aberdeen and Northern Marts for the past 45 years and is a well-respected member of staff by customers and colleagues alike. The Group would like to thank him for his great contribution to the success of the livestock business here in Caithness and wish him the best of luck in his retirement.”
Taking up Mr Gordon’s position in July will be Thomas Fraser, who joins the Group from NFU Mutual, where he currently works as a Senior Insurance Agent. In his new role, Mr Fraser will ensure the efficient operation of the office at the Caithness Livestock Centre.
