ANM Group is today honouring the commitment and dedication from two Directors and nine long-standing staff members, with a combined service of 362 years.
Porterhouse Restaurant played host to the celebrations which recognised two former Directors and members of staff for their valued contributions to Scotland’s leading farmer-owned cooperative. Staff members were recognised at the special lunch for 50, 40 and 30 years’ service and John McIntosh, former Chairman and John Gordon, retired Director for 24 years and nine years respectively.
Special appreciation was made to Alice Stuart – who is set to retire on 18 December and has devoted half a century to the Group. Printing and Stationery Supervisor, Alice, joined the Group in April 1966 as an Office Junior in Scotland’s largest egg packing station at the Central mart in Aberdeen. Alice then moved to the typist’s office before becoming responsible for the Group’s key print room function in 1979 – printing the high volume of weekly sales catalogues - before relocating to Thainstone Centre when it opened in 1990.
The lunch also marked 40 years’ service from Alan Donald, George Johnston, Dougie Mitchell and Sandy Smith. Graham Gibb, Sandra McIntosh, Sandy Morrison and Bob Ross were also rewarded for their 30 year commitment to the Group.
John Gregor, Executive Director of the ANM Group, said: “At today’s lunch we are delighted to individually reward and recognise this exceptional achievement from our staff members and Directors. Our people are key to our success and we are appreciative of this long-term dedication to the Group.”
Alice Stuart said “It has been great to be part of the team over the last fifty years – the changes in that time, especially with technology, have been both phenomenal and challenging. We work very closely with the auctioneers as a support mechanism ensuring the smooth running of our regular sales – the print room team is an essential cog in the wheel at Thainstone. Although I will miss the team, I am very much looking forward to getting back into some voluntary work as well as spending some time at home, working on the garden and finally putting up the wallpaper I bought for my lounge ten years ago.”
