Altrad Sparrows has announced a one-year partnership with leading North-east charity, Clan Cancer Support.

As part of the agreement, the maintenance and engineering specialists for the global energy and industrial sectors will work with Clan to raise awareness and secure vital donations, with its staff committed to fundraising and volunteering activities for the charity throughout 2025.

To kick off this partnership, Altrad Sparrows employees have signed up for challenges such as Run Balmoral, Run Garioch, and the Kiltwalk in support of Clan. Additionally, staff have committed to volunteering at the charity’s upcoming Spring Market event at Clan House and have coordinated a donation drive to support the opening of the charity’s pre-loved children’s clothing store, which is due to open in Banchory this spring.

"Our UK employees selected Clan as the charity of the year through a survey conducted late last year. We are excited to see their engagement in fundraising activities as well as their participation in Clan's volunteer opportunities," said Tim McKelvey, Altrad Sparrows' regional manager for Europe.

Clan provides free physical and emotional support for people of all ages and with all types of cancers from its network of wellbeing centres across the North-east, Moray, Orkney and Shetland.

Lisa Barnard, Clan’s head of income generation and business development, said: “We are honoured to be selected by the Altrad Sparrows staff as their charity of choice and to embark on this new partnership with the company.

“As an entirely self-funded organisation, we rely on the generosity of our supporters to enable us to provide our lifeline services and the enthusiasm and commitment shown by the Altrad Sparrows team to get stuck into challenges and volunteer on behalf of Clan has been incredible.

“We look forward to working with them to identify more meaningful ways of collaborating to benefit both organisations throughout our partnership.”
