Rugby star and former All Black captain Sean Fitzpatrick is in Aberdeen next month (September) to discuss the parallels between success in sport and success in business.
He is at the Ardoe House Hotel on September 28 as part of Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber’s ongoing Vanguard series of events.
As well as being one of the most capped rugby players in the world, Sean is founder of the sport-to-business leadership company Front Row Leadership offering consultation, leadership and motivational advice to senior global management at companies such as Microsoft, Renaissance Capital, Hewlett Packard, Nestle, General Motors and Heinz.
He played 92 international rugby matches for the All Blacks from 1986-1998, including a world record of 63 consecutive Test matches and 51 Test matches as captain of New Zealand.
Sean is the latest speaker in the series, which has already included appearances by General Sir Mike Jackson and jewellery magnate Gerald Ratner.
The Chamber, in partnership with Shell, launched the series of Vanguard events last year with dinners on key strategic issues for the North-east, lunches on topics which tactically responded to the agenda of the day as well as “OnLeadership” dinners with high-profile guests speaking about the art of leadership.
Liam Smyth, membership director at the Chamber, said: “The OnLeadership series has been well received by our members and the Chamber is pleased that even in the current difficult environment, businesses in the North-east are continuing to show commitment and a willingness to engage in learning from talented leaders.”
