Aberdeen Airport saw a significant increase in both passengers and profits last year, with nearly 300,000 more people flying in and out.
The latest financial reports from Companies House show turnover rose to £51.9million at Aberdeen International Airport in 2023, an increase of 12% from the year prior.
Pre-tax profits also soared to £6.8million last year, up from £266,000 in 2022.
Passenger numbers increased to 2.3million last year, with international flights increasing by 24%.
The airport has invested over £2million in major projects to accommodate the growth in passengers.
In his strategic report, director Andy Cliffe said: “Major projects included the ongoing programme of airfield pavement re-lifing works, surface access barrier equipment replacement and essential re-lifing works to major assets within various operational buildings including roofs and electrical infrastructure.
“Investment to improve passenger experience and operational readiness included the purchase of new security and airfield winter equipment and passenger baggage trolleys replacement.
“Sustainable projects to reduce the carbon footprint of the airport included air handling unit replacement and electric vehicle charging points purchase.”
Looking forward, the airport anticipates further growth of passenger numbers which points to a "positive" outlook for the oil and gas sector.
