Aberdeen-based Aiken Group has cemented its position in the Middle East and Asia by landing significant pieces of work in both regions.
The company’s newest division, Aiken Burke, is reporting good progress in securing expert and commercial consultancy with major EPC contractors and is currently active in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Asia. Projects include a 1200MW power and desalination plant and an ethylene production facility in Saudi Arabia, a power transmission and distribution project in the United Arab Emirates and work related to the construction and retrofitting of two FPSOs, one of which is in Asia.
The company also remains busy closer to home, and is supporting clients in various locations including London, Spain and Scandinavia where it has been appointed by a U.S.-based power and data systems provider to provide a resourcing solution for a major project. This involves an initial requirement for ten project management positions with the potential for a further ten on the same project.
Aiken Burke was launched last year to further enhance Aiken Group’s synergistic approach to business. It specialises in commercial and contract consultancy and schedule delay analysis. The core of the business is ensuring dynamic project controls to increase efficiency and avoid disputes with a particular focus on the oil and gas and heavy engineering industries.
Richard Burke of Aiken Burke said: “It is less than a year since Aiken Burke was launched and we are delighted with the levels of business we are securing both at home and overseas. With further work in the pipeline in various locations, our first year looks set to exceed expectations in terms of the volume of work we have won.”
Aiken Group managing director Danny Donald added: “Aiken Burke continues to be a valuable addition to the company by growing our presence globally and by underlining that the synergies between our constituent parts give us strength and buoyancy during times of uncertainty for the industry.”
Aiken Group is a leading and innovative supplier of integrated, out-sourced and solutions-based engineering and specialist services principally accommodation; engineering, construction and modification and technology and project management.
