AGR recognised for education and training in award shortlist

Global energy services and software company, AGR, is down to the final few in the 2016 Getenergy Awards.

Getenergy recognises excellence in education and training across the oil and gas sector over several categories. The awards offer a high profile platform for success stories while providing a framework to measure, record and recognise achievements in areas of critical importance to the global oil and gas business.

AGR’s TRACS Training has been shortlisted in the ‘Education Partnership 2016’ category for its work with the University of Aberdeen. The company partnered with the university in 2015 to support the delivery of the petroleum Engineering and Geosciences Masters programme.

This year, the awards have attracted more interest than ever before with over 10, 000 votes cast.

Mark Bentley (pictured), training director at AGR said: “We are honoured to be considered for the Getenergy Awards in the Education Partnership category. We have a longstanding relationship with the University of Aberdeen and it’s been a great experience for us all to be involved in the development of the MSc Petroleum Engineering programme. TRACS Training exists to support learning and development across all levels in the industry, from students to CEOs, and our team of engineers and geoscientists are perfectly positioned to offer such support to the university.

“It’s more important than ever for industry and academia to collaborate to help deliver the next generation of technical experts who will play a huge role in moving our industry forward.”

The winners will be announced alongside Getenergy's 12th annual Global Education and Training Event between May 16-17 in London. TRACS Training will yet again be exhibiting and showcasing its training portfolio at the two-day gathering aimed for the E&P industry.
