Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre (AECC) has secured a three year deal with client Xcite Media for hosting the popular Scottish Home Show for the next three years.
The Scottish Home Show is the biggest home improvement exhibition in the North-east and has gone from strength to strength attracting 36,500 visitors since launching in 2012 and has seen its exhibitor portfolio increase from 80 in year one to 220 in year four.
The event has proved itself as a must for anyone looking to update their home. A host of celebrities have attended the event including TV presenter, Lorraine Kelly, builder, Tommy Walsh, interior designer, Linda Barker and gardening expert, Charlie Dimmock and visitors have enjoyed live cookery and DIY demonstrations and visited exhibition stands by brand names such as AGA, Dandara, Bang and Olufsen, Bon Accord Glass, Alaris and many more.
Darren Ross, Director, Xcite Media Ltd, comments: “We are absolutely delighted to have confirmed a further three years with the AECC to bring one of Scotland’s largest home and garden exhibitions back to the people of the north east.
“The popularity of the home, garden and lifestyle markets are evidently continuing to blossom, with a particular demand for tips and techniques which help people up-cycle old goods and spruce up their home on a budget. While some might be taking more time to consider investment buys, there is still definitely a demand for the more luxury, high-end products also.
“Our ability to present such a diverse show has meant that there really is something for everyone to enjoy throughout the weekend and our feedback so far this year has reflected this. Having spoken with the majority of our exhibitors at our most recent show in September, many of them have already signed up again for next year, and we have also taken some enquiries from companies that have not yet had a presence at the show. Plans are already under way for 2016 and, with the support of the AECC, we look forward to developing our show over the next few years."
Anna Mackenzie, Senior Sales Manager, AECC, said: “Building lasting relationships with our clients is very important to the way we work at AECC so we are delighted that Xcite Media have chosen to return to the venue for the next three years. It has been great to work alongside the show and watch how the event has grown and developed since launching. Being a part of their achievement is infectious and each year they experience a new success, this year saw a record amount of visitors and exhibitors so we cannot wait to see what the team will achieve over the next three years.”
